SDWNY is thrilled to announce our endorsement of City of Buffalo Delaware District Councilmember Michael LoCurto for reelection. A crucial ally and Stonewall Democrat, Councilmember LoCurto has, time and again, fought the fight for equality with SDWNY and our community. Representing the vibrant Delaware District, Mike LoCurto has been a representative every woman, man and child he represents can be proud of. Along with Councilmember Rivera, Mike LoCurto was essential in the passage of the city’s domestic partnership legislation last year.
An accomplished leader, Mike LoCurto has built a strong record on community development and urban revitalization. Among his many accomplishments, LoCurto has fought for living wage legislation, helped establish the Anti-Flipping Task Force (AFTF) to fight for better housing conditions in the city and focused on the economic development of the Delaware District by promoting and strengthening the culturally diverse communities of North Buffalo, Little Italy on Hertel, Parkside and throughout the district.
